This win is another podium finish in the Euro4 series and one of his most finish in all F4 races and continues to mark him out as a driver to watch. The numerous exciting battles through the race showed that he now has the race craft and experience to complement his natural speed and ability.
The Euro4 and the Italian formula 4 series attracts the most talented drivers from around the world all with their sights set on moving through all the racing formula series until they reach F1, and it is considered the toughest formula for aspiring drivers.
From the start of the weekend through free practice and qualifying Al Dhaheri showed good pace and should have finished race 1 in P4 but was tagged from behind which dropped him down to 9th. In Race 2, which was run in the wet, he showed his all-weather skill coming home in 6th. However, in the final race of the weekend on a dry track he hooked up his Prema Race under Yas Heat team colors car moving from 6th up to his final race position of 2nd and taking his podium spot.
Commenting on his 2nd place Rashid Al Dhaheri said: “No one expected the weather in September to be so cold and wet, so my thanks go out to the team and especially my Prema race engineer, Nicola, for preparing the car so well. We have all worked incredibly hard to achieve this podium finish and we now want to go one place better and bring home another win. Our focus is on the next race, taking what we have learnt this weekend, and dialing it into the preparations for Catalunya.”
Round 6 of the Italian F4 Championship will take place on the 29th of September 2024 in Spain at the circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
