His Excellency the Minister of Tourism Mr. Walid Nassar
“Our support to this exhibition aims at highlighting this futuristic event that is unique of its kind in the
MENA region and that is taking place here in Lebanon, promoting the adoption of sustainable solutions
in the transportation sector. We wish the organizers all the success and invite everyone to visit and learn
about the latest innovations in the field of environmentally friendly transportation solutions.”
Mr. Gilbert Tegho, CEO of e-EcoSolutions
“As EVs are receiving more and more acclaim at the global level, the world is enabling the transition from
combustion engines to electrified engines. In a recent analysis by BloombergNEF, it has been shown that
ICE sales have fallen by 20% since 2017 while the global sales of EVs have surpassed 10 million units for
the first time ever. EVs can now be perceived as a disruptive innovation.” Mr. Tegho went on to highlight
that “Lebanon is the perfect country for EVs to prosper, and although one of the barriers of EVs is Range
Anxiety, in Lebanon, this barrier simply doesn’t exist!”
Mr. Tegho also thanked H.E. the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Walid Nassar for presenting his patronage, as
well as the president of the AIA, Mr. Georges Tabet, for his collaboration on this event. He also expressed
his great appreciation for all event Supporters and regional and local Media Partners.
Mr. Georges Tabet, President of the Association of Importers of Automobiles in Lebanon (AIA)
acknowledged that the government has already made an initiative to support the adoption of EVs by
totally removing customs duty on EV imports and reducing it on Hybrid cars. He added that although this
is very positive, it is unfortunately not enough as the adoption of this kind of technology on a wide scale
requires infrastructure planning and specialized regulations, which is something the AIA is totally ready to
collaborate with.
The e-MotorShow® Middle East is continuing until Sunday May 14, and all visitors interested in attending
may register on www.e-MotorShow.com in order to cut the queues at the doors.
Green Actions: We Walk the Talk!

environment using Integrated Pest Management, and more Green measures.
