POSITIVE TAKEAWAYS FOR AMNA FROM MONZA
Amna Al Qubaisi: “Overall, enjoyed driving in Monza for the first time”
Monza (Italy) – UAE champion and Prema PowerTeam driver Amna Al Qubaisi came away with plenty of positives from Round 3 of the F4 Italian Championship held at Monza from June 1-3.
“The Flying Girl” gave it her best shot over the weekend, but a combination of circumstances, including a puncture in Race 1 forced her retirement. However, she came back strongly in the remaining two races to finish in the middle of the field (28 drivers).
Earlier, during Qualifying, where she was competing for a position at the top, she was pushed off track and she had to drive with a bent steering wheel which was later fixed for the main races.
Amna, who made her F4 debut at Adria in April, said: “Today’s race was not too bad. I moved in the rookie class up to P8 in Race 2 while in Race 3 I finished in 7th position.
“Overall, enjoyed driving in Monza for the first time. It was another new learning curve for me in Formula 4 and I’m happy with the experience I’ve gained from this amazing circuit.
“I would like to thank Kaspersky Lab, Renoir Consulting, Italia Independent, Garage Italia, Gaudi Jeans, Omeir Travel Agency and of course everyone at Abu Dhabi Racing for their great support. I am now looking forward to the race in Misano.”
The next race at the Misano will be held on the weekend of June 17.
The Formula 4 season got underway at the Adria International Raceway on April 22, 2018, and will conclude at the Mugello Circuit on October 28, championship comprising of a total of seven race weekends.
