Just a few weeks after the world premiere of the sedan, the two-door version of the C-Class proves it is also enjoying its new top form with the coupé and cabriolet. Sportiness and driving pleasure have been enhanced with a sharper design, digital cockpit and DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL suspension. The new four-cylinder engines with increased performance in the C 200 & C 300 as well as the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC now with 287 kW (390 hp) underscore the dynamic nature of this highly emotive appealing C-Class representative. The latest C-Class models will be available in the GCC region in Q3 2018.
Now even sportier: New four cylinder engines
A new generation of four cylinder petrol engines (M264) is being launched for the new C-Class. With a displacement of 2.0 litres they will now have an increased output of 150 kw (204 hp) in the C 200 and 190 kw (258 hp) in the C 300.
Mercedes-AMG: More performance for the C 43 4MATIC Coupé and Cabriolet
With a multitude of carefully coordinated measures, the AMG developers have enhanced the two-door performance models dynamics even further. The 3.0-litre V6 engine now develops 287 kW (390 hp), i.e. 17 kW (23 hp) more than before. The peak torque of 520 Nm is available in a wide engine speed range from 2500 to 5000 rpm. The new C 43 4MATIC Coupé accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, and the Cabriolet in 4.8 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
The exterior of the C 43 4MATIC Coupe and Cabriolet is considerably more expressive, strongly identifying the new models as members of the family. New distinguishing features include the AMG radiator grille with twin louvre in matt iridium silver and the powerfully sculpted front apron with additional flics.
The interior sporty materials such as leather, DINAMICA microfibre and aluminium in a high-quality finish continue the theme of the expressive exterior in the interior, including galvanised steering wheel gearshift paddles to support a sporty driving style.
Individual driving experience thanks to DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL
The optional DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL suspension is equipped with continuous adjustable damping for the front and rear axle. The stepless system controls the damping characteristics individually for each wheel as it interacts with the engine, transmission and steering properties – to suit the driving situation, speed and condition of the road surface.
The individual suspension setup can be determined in three stages via the DYNAMIC SELECT switch: the damping characteristics are tuned more tautly in the two stages “Sport” and “Sport+”. The “Comfort” mode is more comfortably tuned, unevenness is levelled out better while road roar and tyre vibration characteristics are tangibly improved.
More dynamic design and LED High Performance headlamps as standard
The new-look C-Class combines emotionality with intelligence. The vehicle’s appearance is defined in particular by its front and tail end and the design of the headlamps and tail lights.
The front design exudes sportiness and lifestyle at first glance with powerful styling elements such as the new bumper and the standard-fit diamond radiator grille. For the first time in this model series, MULTIBEAM LED headlamps with ULTRA RANGE high beam are additionally available.
Due to the autonomous design with the dynamic details and standard-fit two-pipe exhaust system the rear view appears broad and agile. A particular highlight both day and night are the revised, more accentuated all-LED rear lamps.
The sporty design features are heightened with the AMG Line. For example, the AMG Line exterior includes the diamond radiator grille with pins in chrome plus an AMG-specific front apron with new geometry, sporty air intakes and its chromed trim element. The exterior with the Night Package, available for the cabriolet for the first time, sports an even more athletic look with its black design features.
