Major driver of the Turkish economy

 

One of the driving forces of the Turkish economy, the automotive sector’s exports hit an all-time high in February with an increase of 26 percent compared to the same month of the last year, reaching  $2.8 billion. Holding about 22 percent of the market share in Turkey’s exports, the sector realized more than one-fifth of total exports alone. Exports to Germany, the largest market on a country-by-country basis, rose by 22 percent to $409 million followed by Italy with 24 percent increase to $320 million.
